January 9, 2013

And a happy, snot-filled Wednesday to you all.

First off, let's talk about "Little Vampires." It's a fun, easy read of a webcomic and the folks behind it are sweet as watermelon covered in syrup. I see them at most of the conventions I attend and they always check on the other cartoonist around 'em and make sure we're okay. They're just nice people who do a fun webcomic. Give it a try.

Also, if you're a coffee drinker, R. Stevens of "Diesel Sweeties" is selling a coffee mug you probably really need.

So, today's comic. You're all probably lucky I haven't just replaced the entire cast with Super Ghost because it's a character I love to draw. But I'm pretty sure that's just me.

Y'know, back in 2002, when I first came up with the idea of an "Old Familiar Faces" week, I hadn't really intended it to be a yearly event. But it did, and everyone seems to like it. I think I keep it up because, in the comics I've read over the years, characters come and go (much like the people in our lives) and sometimes you just want to know what happened to that one supporting character from way back. What happened to Lyman after he left Odie with Jon? What happened to Lola Granola after she an Opus split? What shallow grave did Charlie Brown bury Frieda in, only to be haunted by her ghostly cries about her naturally curly hair?

I'm pretty sure every one of those comic strip references dates me horribly.

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying it. I know everyone has certain characters they'd want to show up this week but it's only five days. Personally, I'm looking forward to getting back into the main story lines.

See ya tomorrow! -R.
