For a Friend

A few things. First off, it is very possible, soon, I will be selling all four "Super Stupor" books as a single e-book or PDF. Still trying to get the file size manageable. More on that when it's done.

Second, some friends of mine have a local band called Aristoscat. They're trying to raise some money to put an album together. Give 'em a listen and if you like what you hear and you can afford it, help 'em out. They're about the only people I've worn a dress for on camera.

Now on to the important stuff. Michael Poe has been a fixture in webcomics for over a decade. He make the webcomic Exploitation Now (the first webcomic merch I ever bought was that comic's first volume and I still have it), the gorgeous fantasy comic Errant Story, and, more recently, the comic Does Not Play Well With Others. I first met him and his wife Hilary at a convention in San Francisco back in 2004. Poe works hard on his projects - they're his life. He crafts wonderful stories. He works damn hard.

On Friday, Poe was admitted to the hospital for acute renal failure. He has since come home but has more medical appointments and medical bills ahead. As many of us know all too well, medical bills can be crushing and, sadly, Poe doesn't have insurance. If you're a fan of his work, or have ever enjoyed the stuff he's done, or just love really great comics, hope on over to Poe's store and see if something strikes your fancy. This is the perfect time to drop some cash with him. It'll help him out, and a healthy, happy cartoonist keeps making comics to read.

And that's a pretty nice thing. See ya tomorrow. -R.
