Hurricane Relief, Cons and Stuff.

September 1, 2005

First off - you see that sidebar ad to Platypus Dreams? That's run by Kathy. I've known Kathy since we were teens. Kathy's a good person and does some amazing hats. Before people ask, yes, I said it was okay if she made Choo-Choo Bear hats. She's not associated with S*P and it's not part of the S*P Store - or me, in that manner. But her stuff is solid - and she even sells patterns, if you want to make those neat animal hats. Kathy's good people... damn it.

As you all know by now, Hurricane Katrina changed many lives and thousands of families are now left to try to pick up the pieces and deal with everything, and everyone, they've lost. If you'd like to help by donating money or goods, please contact the Red Cross. There's also Unicef and Direct Relief International.

And if you live in Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Bastardos, a local Rocky Horror group, is doing a deal where canned goods brought to the show for donations will get you prop packs. Not too shabby. Their site has more details.

Don't forget I'll be at Anime Fest in Dallas on this weekend. Jin Wicked will be at my vendor table with me, too - and you might even catch the "real" Aubrey, voice actress Clarine Harp. I'll have a table in the vendor area, as mentioned, and I'll be on three panels:

Web-Comic Panels:

Fri. 3-4p - Main Events

Sun. 7-8p - Panel Room 2

S*P Panel:

Sun. 4-5p - Workshop

Please come out. Remember, I do free quick ass sketches and even draw on Munchkin blank cards. Plus, it would suck to have no one in my panel but Clarine and myself.

Also, Clarine will be a guest at Anime Vegas on October 28th through 30th. Personally, I think it's cool and am a little jealous. I want to go to Vegas. I'd even cosplay as Hunter S. Thompson like my friend, Paul Riddell, has done.

And that brings me to my final point. A lot has really been bogging me down still and I need some time to catch up on two other comics I'd LIKE to be doing as well, but S*P comes first. Well, Paul Riddell, an impressive writer, wrote a script - and it will be next week's S*P storyline. I'm pretty excited because it's easier to draw a comic than draw and write - and I love Paul's writing..

Now if you'll excuse me, I must pack. -R
