  1. Gotta get the sad out of your brain to make room for the sad from the world. It is something positive to be a better person than you used to. <3

  2. As someone who uses and benefits from LLM AI but isn’t a techbro sycophant, it’s really nice to hear a moderate take on it in media I look at. There’s so, so few of those.

Ironically, I really wish I could find human beings to talk to about the things I do with LLM AI. But I’m not selling anything and I am not pretending it loves me, and 90% of the media I enjoy has openly taken an anti-AI stance so hardline that the mere non-negative mention of it in fandom spaces gets you dogpiled or shunned or moderated without interaction.

It really illustrates that if you are in the kind of intensely socially isolated situation that leads you resort to LLMs as one of your few possible social outlets, there’s no off-ramp. Once you’re in, the only people who will take you seriously are other heavy users, and the vast majority of them aren’t interested in nuance, or trying to rebuild human connection out of the common experience of the LLM user experience. To talk to people outside, you have to not talk about it, and if you’re not talking about it, if you’re hiding what your experience as a human is like, then that just reinforces the alienation. Forcing yourself to have the experience of being around people who make you feel alone doesn’t improve anything, it just exhausts you until you give up on hoping you’ll start feeling fulfillment from pretending you’re feeling fulfillment from interacting with people who don’t know what your life is really like and don’t want to know.

Anyway, thank you for making and sharing this comic. It made me feel very slightly less alone.
