I feel you. A friend died last week. I’ve lost friends before, but this feels like the starting of the next stage, when it’s my peers that start dying of natural causes. Not really into it.
You can still call them phone companies like to recycle old numbers so you could call them and who knows they might be a new friend on the other end

My phone still lists my Dad’s number as “Mom and Dad”.
Yeah, I’ve had to modify a lot of contact entries to remove numbers as they get reassigned.
